Join the League of Women Voters of the Akron Area for a panel discussion on the City of Akron’s Combined Sewer Overflow Plan and the potential for integrating green infrastructure to contain costs. It is co-sponsored by the Social Action Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Church.

We have assembled a panel of experts including:
James Hewitt, City of Akron Engineering Bureau Manager
Shannon Conway, MWH Global, Inc., Consultants to the City of Akron Sabrena Schweyer, APLD, Salsbury-Schweyer, Inc. Sustainable Landscape Design
Samuel Salsbury, APLD, Salsbury-Schweyer, Inc. Sustainable Landscape Design

The panelists will discuss the Combined Sewer Overflow Plan, incorporating green infrastructure, and the issues around the sewer rates and affordability.  The City of Akron has contracted with MWH Global, Inc. to plan for integrated solutions to the combined Sewer Overflows.

Salsbury-Schweyer, Inc., has consulted with the City for its Plan and will provide insights on green infrastructure, and the measures that municipalities and citizens may consider to integrate green infrastructure into the landscape.

A question and answer session with the panel has been included for audience members to get answers to their most pressing questions, and the information needed about this timely topic. It is free and open to the public.
